Oxted Runners at the start of the Dry Hill pub run from the Old House at Home, Dormansland, 8 June 2010
Our Club Runs

Our regular club run takes place every Tuesday evening, starting at 7.15pm from Limpsfield tennis club. Between April and September, when the evenings are light, we run into the lovely countryside surrounding Limpsfield and Oxted. The runs are between 5 and 7 miles and we form into groups running at different speeds. At regular intervals in the spring and summer we start our runs from a pub out in the countryside, which enables us to add even greater variety to our runs as well as having the conviviality of drinks or food at a hostelry afterwards.

On Tuesday evenings in winter we do a 5 mile circuit around Oxted and Limpsfield, mostly on pavements lit by street lights. To add a bit of spice, every few weeks we hold a handicap run, with prizes awarded for the best performances over the whole season.

Since the start of 2012 we have also added a regular Thursday run, again starting at 7.15pm from Limpsfield Tennis Club. We usually split into two groups with one group running a 5 to 6 mile route that is different from the Tuesday winter circuit, whilst the second group does varied forms of training runs.

Races and other running events

Lots of our members take part in running races at all distances but also in a whole variety of other events such as adventure races, challenges or triathlons. Joining the club gives you the chance to find out what other people are doing and maybe join up with them.

We hold an annual club championship road race every July and we also take part in the local men's and ladies' cross-country leagues, which are held in different parts of Surrey from October to February.

Socials

Our special events include a Christmas run and party, and a post London Marathon meal.

Titsey Trail 10K

We now organise our own race, the Titsey Trail 10K. This off-road race on Limpsfield Chart is extremely popular and raises large sums of money for a local charity.
