Oxted Runners starting off on their 2007 summer hash run

Would you like to run with us?

First of all, just come along to Limpsfield Tennis Club on a Tuesday evening and join one of our runs (but if it's summertime check it's not the date of one of our pub runs). See if you like it. The run starts promptly at 7.15pm so if you're a newcomer come along a few minutes earlier and take the opportunity to chat to a few of our members. We have both a fast group and a slow group of runners, and you should be able to find a pace that suits you.

Note that if you're new to running it is advisable to have already achieved a reasonable level of fitness before running with the club. As a guide, you should be able to do an undulating 5 to 6 mile run without stopping, at a pace of about 10 minutes per mile or faster — equivalent to 60-65 minutes for a 10km road run.

People at the club are very friendly. There is a wide range of abilities, from the fast to the not so fast. And there is a range of ages, from people in their 50s and 60s down to people in their 20s and 30s. However, we have no junior members, and we'd recommend that juniors looking to improve their running should approach our sister club, Holland Sports AC, which is specifically geared to helping the younger athlete.

For more information about joining the club please contact us by email or come along before or after a Tuesday night run and speak to one of our committee members.
